Taylor, HO, died after a short illness o f only two or three hours at the home of her daughter, Mrs Sherman Shoales. A pot-luck dinner was served on the lawn at 6:30 after which games were played for a short time. Arnold Garnett had charge o f the program, which was opened with several vocal num­ bers by the Biola Men's Quartette from the Bible Institute o f Los Angeles. Each o f these young men gave testimonial talks later. Mr. West then gave an interesting Bi­ ble talk, after which the Bio'« quartette garve several more se­ lections. These were followed by ensemble singing. CHURCH MEMBERS HOLD REG. MEETING The members o f the local C n- gregntional church enjoyed a pot- luck dinner and social get-together which »a s followed by the regular quarterly business meeting last Thursday evening. Earnest Stassen; Leland Flint, Master of the grange, and Floyd Bierly both spoke on cldb work. Mr. Flint is iaader of the calf club and Floyd Blarly of the corn club. At the close of the meeting, all adjourned to the dining room where ice cream and cake were served. The Kinton grange met in regu­ lar monthly session on the same evening with a goodly number pres­ ent- Mrs. Alice Fluke, lecturer, turned over the lecture hour to the 4-H club members. At the business session it was decided to hold the meetings dur­ ing the busy months on the first ITueaday evening in each month, the next meeting being Tuesday, August 1, at 8 o'clock in the eve- ning. Thursday of this week was “ Clean tip” day, getting ready to entertain Pomona, which meets with Kinton grange. Wednesday. July 26. All enjoyed the basket dinner and ice cream and returned home pleased with the occasion o f an an­ nual get-together. —— MAN — — — — —— INJURED IN AUTO COLLISION While driving on the highway at Tobias Monday, the car occupied by Mr. and MVs. N. F. Dikeman col­ lided with a Ford truck from the Masonic Home at Forest Grove. The Dikeman car was knocked complete­ ly off the highway Mr Dikeman suffers from concussion of the brain, but is reported to he doing nicely. He is in Dr. Mason's care. Both c a n were badly wrecked.
