Mr. Forreat’a son and his wife will move into the apartments at the back of ihe theatre, and will assume active management of the Theatre next week With the show :his week. Mr. Freeman terminates his active career as a Beaverton businessman, after having been a c tively engaged in the show business here since the building of the old PaciAc Theatre buildng now occu pied by Leach’s Markei. In 1024, Freeman built the pres ent thr a re building, naming it The Beaver. Before going into the show business, for a number of years Freeman conduced a grocery on the site of the present Bank of Beaverton building. Mr, Forrest ia an experienced showman, and will continue to bring to Beaverton r.he same high class of entertainment which the former management has been giving this locality. WHITFORD WOMEN’S CLU B HAS MEETING The Whitford Women's Club met at the rlub hall on Wednesday afternoon with a good attendance. Mrs Johnson led the meeting with a lesson. Mrs. Henry Luchx read a very interesting article on “Chil dren and the Movies". This waa followed by an animated discussion. Mrs. Thomas Cleland was hostess. Tuesday afternoon, the neighbors and friends of Kinton gave her a miscellaneous shower at the home of her mother, Mrs. Madge V. Wight, There were about thirty- IV*' present Many nice gifts were received by Miss Wight, includ ing china, cut glass, linen pieces, numerous glass dishes, kitchen utensils, etc. It was very amusing to tlie guests as Miss Wight had to tell what use she was to make of the gift* before unwrapping them. Games in keeping with the occasion was enjoyed and an a t tractive luncheon was served by Mrs. Wight. The Famosa Svirachi Dramatic club of Hillsboro gave a six o'clock dinner Tuesday evening to Miss Wight, also a bridal shower. Many gifts weie received. Thursday afternoon the Indies' Club of Cornelius also gave a bridai shower, Mias Wight being guest of honor. The afternoon was most pleasantly spent with music, games, and social intercourse, and refresn- ments of strawberry-short cake, and coffee.
