Crumb Pastry: 1 cup oven-dried bread c umbi or Zwiebach. 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinramon, and 4 tablespoons melted butter. D-v pieces of stale bread in oven unt:l a golden brown and then run through a food chopper. Thoroughly mix bread crumbs, sugar, cinnamon and melted butter. Line one large (9 nch) pie pan with this mixture or press the mix.ure into muffin pans. Bake in slow oven (275 degrees F.) for 20 minutes. Cool. Pour the fill ing which has been allowed to cool, into taked shell. Date Filling; 1 pkg pasteurized dates, 2 tablespoons orange juice. 1 cup cold water, l cup heavy cream and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar Cook dates and cold water to gether until a thick paste is formed.
