Bait fo r

the email
strawberry rot-weevil must be ap
plied before the edult* begin deposit-
ing eggs, to be effective, says the
Oregon experiment station. Obser
vation indicates this will be from
the middle to the last of June this
year for the small weevils. Either
an apple or bran bait may be used.
The experiment station ha* foupd
tbe following bait to be effective:
Dissolve 1 pound of sugar in 2
quarts of water, and then throughly
mix with 6 pound* of bran until
the bran ia uniformly moistened.
One-half pound calcium araenato ia
thea thoroughly mixed with the moist
bran. About a teaspoonful of the
mixture ia placed directly in tha
erown of the plant. Identification
of specie* will be made free by the
station.
,
Any rogue ing of diseased potato
plants after the tubers hare reached
three-fourth* of an inch in diameter
is net complete unless it includes
digging out the tubers as well, says
lhe Oregon experiment station. Where
tops are palled and medium sized
tubers are left in the ground, they
are dug with the others and will
carry some disease.
The second annual Daily Vacation
Bible School will meet in this church
on Monday, June 24th, at 9 a. m.
AH children up to the age of 14 are
urgently requested to come and share
in the fellowship of this period.
