in iiis prize essay in a south-wide
contest by the American Cotton
Grower:»' Exchange in which about
10.000 hoys and girls participated.
The subject of all th e essays was,
■‘Cooperative m a rk e tin g as it af
fects the cotton fa rm e r.”
The finals io the contest were
held at M ontgomery, Alabama,
wheie state cham pions competed
ror the four medals and cash prizes.
The advice given by young W al
ters applies with equal force to all
farmers, whether they raise cotton
or some other crop. W hile much
progress in cooperative m arketing
has been made in recent years, the
movement is yet in its infancy. An
extension cf the practice to all
farm eis would go a long way to
ward solving one of the most im
portant yroblsuis of agriculture.
