You claim to be responsible for
changing the Harrisburg - Albany
bridge bond issue into a w arrant issue.
Is it not a fact that all proceedings
were taken to sell bonds but in con
sequence of the bonding attorneys ob

Your card states in 90% of the cases
you have been able to secure a plea

any of them been secured by a bar

offenders to “secure” pleas of guilty?

To the V oters of L inn C ounty :—
Being a candidate in the Republican Primaries for Rep
resentative from Linn County, I believe the voters are en
titled to know what to expect in the event o f my nomination
and election, so I am taking the liberty of subm itting a brief
statement relative to my candidacy.
I have lived in Linn county continuously for the past 28
years, w ith the exception of 13 months spent in the m ilitary
service during the World war. For the past 17 years I have
conducted a general merchandise business at Sweet Home.
Prior to that I lived on a farm at Foster. JThis background.
I feel, w ill enable me to understand clearly and deal fairly
w ith the legislative problems o f both the farmer and the
business man. I f nominated and elected to the state legis
lature I w ill work for legislation having for its purpose strict
economy in state government, reduction and equalization of
taxes so as to relieve the over-burdened landowner, applica
tion of business methods in the state’s affairs, and a sensible
revision o f automobile license laws.
I am a reasonably heavy taxpayer and since my home
and all my business interests are in Linn county I am vitally
interested in its welfare and development, and i f elected w ill
give the best there is in me to the service o f my countv. I f
you feel that I could render, as I feel I can, conscientious
and successful service to the people of the county as Repre
sentative, I w ill appreciate your support.
Thanking you fo r your consideration of this letter and
your support i f you see fit to extend the same, I am.

ENERAL MOTORS was organized on the
principle that a group of strong companies,
working together as a family, could serve the public
better than they could separately.
The public has approved this principle.
In 1924 one out of every six cars chosen by the
public was a General Motors car. In 1925 the pro
portion was one in five. In 1926 it was one in four.
A nd last year it was one in three.
The improvement in General Motors products is
continuous. Great Research Laboratories are con
stantly seeking new paths for betterment. A 1245-
acre Proving Ground tests all that science has dis
covered and proves each new design before it is
offered to you. Each year there has been a steady
advance in the quality, performance and beauty of
General Motors cars, with no increase in price.
