the rebels under Oenerul Sandlno a t
tacked. A fter a brisk fight th e rebels
se n t out a truce party and suggested
th a t H atfield and his men su rren d er
unconditionally. H atfield's reply was
versed in seagoing m arine language
negative, and th e battle was resum ed.
The m arines w ere hard pressed, but
still fighting when the airplane squad

wounded, the general belief is th at
they exceeded 120 deud, with more
than 1000 wounded.

of the police and troops, is absolute

no way directed ag ain st foreigners,
who have not been m olested In a

The central section of Vienna Is
quiet, though presenting the picture of

An alpenstock, on which he fell,
went com pletely through his chest. He
died while being tran sp o rted down the

Legion cam p at the 6000 foot level.
