A pleasant and profitable meet­
ing of the Woman’s Study Club
was held on Thursday afternoon
at the home of Mrs R A Temple­
ton. The roll call response was
made practical by helpful garden
hints. The lesson on vegetable
gardening by Mesdames Morn-
hinweg and Laubner was an in­
teresting one and was received
with much enthusiasm, the gar
den season being upon us. De­
licious refreshments were served
at an artistically decorated table.

place cards and napkins. The
next meeting of the club will be
at the home of Mrs J W Moore.
Mrs Templeton and Mrs Stafford
will present the lesson on Floral
Culture, Artistic Planting, and
Practical Perennials.

Mrs M B Morrow arrived here
Tuesday morning from Honolulu,
where she had been for nearly
four months. She will remain
for a while with her mother,

health as very much improved.

drove his team to town and tied
it near the meat market, his di g
being in the wagon, but tied.
The dog becoming restless, jump­
ed out, and the rope not being
long enough to let him clear to
the ground, he hung there by
the neck, just his hind feet
touching the ground. The team
became frightened and broke
loose and started to run. the dog
being drug by the neck and
jumping with its hind legs. A
car was gotten and took out afti r
the team and overtook them ot t
ir the country a ways. Fortu­
nately nothing was broken or
hurt except that the dog had a
stiff neck for a few days.
