I >tnd tractors, the county bridges
'and ferries must have repairs and
mproveiueuts this corning year to
the amount of 167,000 00. This
iraonnt hag been determined after
i careful survey and investigation
of the actual needs. It will re
quire appioximately 120,000.00
for repairs, fuel, oil, and other
equipment for operating the trucks,
rock crushers, tractors, rollers
and graders.
Linn county must have two ad
ditional road rollers; at present
Linn county has but one roller
with over 2400 miles of road to
take care of.
Whereas Benton
county has three rollers with 600
miles of road to take care of, and
Lane county has four rollers with
151X) miles of road, and Marion
county has ten rollers with 1600
milosof road. A great deal can
oe gained in road construction by
packing and thoroughly rolling
ihe graded and graveled highways.
Lane county has a tax of ap
proximately 8 mills for road pur
poses alone; Benton county has a
tax of approximately 7 mills for
road purposes alone; and Linn
county has a tax for road purpo
ses alone of approximately three
mills and a half.
