Women's Club Plans CENTER New Year’s Eve Party Friday, December 19. 1952 Illinois Valley News Pag* 8 Heh the ILLINOIS VALLEY MEDICAL O’Brien Women’s club member- were treated to an afternoon of song and entertainment at their annual Christmas party last Friday Dec. 12 at the clubhouse and will meet again for a New Year’s Eve party the 31st. An hors d’oeuvTes table greeted the guests as they arrived for a pot luck luncheon. During a brief business meeting following the lunch it was decided to hold a New Year’s Eve party vith Mesdames Opal Spitz, Sophia Bunch, Bess Knippel, V’aleria Ran ker, Lois Brink and Doris Boyd in charge. Mrs. Edith Drews opened the af ternoon's program with selection? 'rom Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol.” A dramatic play reading was given by Mrs. Marie Appy. ‘The Family Portrait.” The sto-r-y of “The First Christ mas” was told in song b.y Jerry Freitas.
