(Abe) Tolin, of San Difas, Calif., spent last week here visiting relatives for the first time in several years. Tuesday evening a family reunion was held at the Fritz Krauss home and those present included Mrs. Krauss’ brothers and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tolin <>f Glendale, Mr. and Mrs. William Tolin and son Billy, Abe Tolin; their mother Mrs. Abbie Tolin of Grants Pass; the Krauss children and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Krauss, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hussey and children, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Krauss and chil dren and Kohath and Kenneth Krauss. Two o* Mr. Tolin’s friends. Dale Brennan and Ted Tafoya from San Dimas came with him. Harold Taylor was guest speak er at the morning services at the Selma church Sunday. He- is leav ing soon to attend Southwestern Theological Seminary at Ft. Worth Tex. Recently the young people of the church gave him a farewell party. After the dinner of baked liam and all the trimmings, he was presented with a piece of luggage as a farewell gift. The group sang songs and had short talks. Guests were Rev. and Mrs. Douglas Field, Mr. and Mrs. William Krauss, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith, Mrs. Jack Prentice. Don Warren, Kohath Krauss, Jim Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Breazeale. Virginia and Fred dy Breazeale, Zada Smith, and Mary Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hagerman and daughters of San Frapcisco visited last week with his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Sandell. Charles “Terry” Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Miller, who was stricken with polio at Kwaj- alen. and later fl wn to the Haw aiian Islands, died Nov. 26. His wife, the former Alene Brewer, and daughter Anita Rao was with him. Besides his narents and wife and daughter, he leaves a brother Gerald in the Navy, and two sis ters. Mrs. Bud Mandic of Stock- ton and Mrs. M C. Grey of Healds- zurg. Calif. Hi two sisters and Mrs. Miller’s sister Mrs. Frank Norman of Oakland. Calif., came up to be with the *amily. Funeral services will be held in Grants Pass with interment at Hillcrest. Terry had been in the Navy for i 2 years. He graduated from Ker by Union High school. Not too much damage has been ieported from the recent storm. The sign at the Selma Cafe was blown down and some of the roof ing was blown off the office at S.H. A W. Lumber Co. The Selma store roof was damaged and a tree blew over onto Pete Blue's garage. Selma was without power about 4!» hours. Mr. and Mrs.e J. G. Dick are announcing the engagement and : coming marriage of their daughter, ! Phyllis Louise to Garland Wayne Saffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Saffer of Cave Junction. The couple will be married this I Sunday, Dec. 14 in the Cave Junc- | tion Community church. Rev. Geo. Gray officiating. AH friends and relatives of the I couple are invited to attend the 2 p.m. ceremony. Turkey Shoot scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed be cause of the weather until Dec. 28. The place will be the same— on the West Side Rd. Douglas Logan celebrated his sixth birthday Saturday with a party at his home. The little guests who attended were Jeannie and Janice Masters, Leslie and Buddy Moore, Marilyn and Dickie Knoles and Joe Lewis. ‘‘Mother’’ Wilber Break, Ankle Mrs. E. J. Wilber broke her I ankle Dec. 1 in her home. Now staying with her daughter .Mrs. Earl Boyd of West Side Rd., Mrs. Wilber will be “down” for two months.
