Mrs. Barbara Tucker and Mrs. Otis Hussey re ceived prizes for the games played. Mrs. H. Crowl and Mrs. Marchant baked and decorated the cake Which was served with coffee. Miss Brewer and her fiance Clar ence “Bud” Leary will be married in the local church Dec. 22 and will make their home in Astoria where he is stationed with the navy. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watt of Fuler- ton, Calif., visited last week with Mrs. Watt’s brother Russel Cooper and, family. Funeral services were held in Grants Pass Wednesday for Mrs. Bert Hogue who died Sunday. She had been in poor health for several years and her eyesight had been failing, but she was able to do her housework and she and her husband always had beautiful flo wers, yard and garden. One day last week Mrs. Glenn Plumlee found Mrs. Hogue where she had fallen in the woodshed. She was taken to the hospital in Grants Pass. The marked trees amount to approximately 120,000 board feet and will be scaled. The successful bidder will be required to make full payment at the time the sale is awarded. The appraised stump age price is $10. Cooper of Selma and Mr. William F. Large were married in a candle light ceremony Thursday evening. November 27 at the First Baptist church in Grants Pass. Mr. Large is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Large of Grants Pass. Rev. Douglas Field of Selma. assisted by Rev. L. G. Fraser of the Grants Pass church, read the double-ring service. Miss Jonelie Berge and Miss JoAnn Taylor were candlelighters for the occasion, and Miss Claire Cooper, sister of the bride, sang “I Love You Truly” and “Be cause”, accompanied by Mrs. Lois Spencer. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a white brocade satin gown with Queen Anne col lar and short train. A fingertip veil, edged with bands of lace, fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and net. She carried a bouquet of white carnations, centered with a purple orchid.
