if., to visit her sister-in-law, Vivi
enne Fennell.
Mrs. Blanche Preston, of Santa
Monica, Calif., arrived here the
10th to visit her sons Meryl and

Karl. She will return home after
Thanksgiving.

A “white elephant” sale and
gift exchange are planned for the
next meeting of the Home Exten
sion Unit December 9, at the home
of Venda Nealey, five miles out
the Caves Hiway.
A preliminary demonstration on
textile painting, given by Virginia
Steimer and Margaret Meredith
featured the November 12 meet
ing of the club. All-day meetings
on textile painting followed on
November 19 and 20 at the home
of Clara Basham.
A limit of 50 cents was set for
the gift exchange, and members
were reminded by Gladys England
of the 4-H Achievement program
tonight (Friday) at the Illinois
Valley High*School.

Clinton Ereitas of Cave Junction
has been in the Portland Veterans
hospital for three weeks after hav
ing surgery performed on a leg. He
will be there for several months.
A previous woods accident
essitated the surgery.
