Valley Projects Related
To Farm Bureau Members
Nineteen persons watched slides
>f Soil Conservation projects in
the Valley at the November 13
meeting of the Farm Bureau which
met in the library of the high
school.
James Broeffle, just recently
discharged from the service, also
showed colored slides. His were of
the area in Korea where he was
stationed and he gave a few aide-
lights on the people, country and
military.
Mel Rigdon, as speaker of the
evening, showed slides and ex-
plained a number of projects and
, piactice- underway in the Valley
with the assistance of the tech­
nicians and equipment of the Soil
Conservation District.
Legislative Chairman Mrs. Effie
Smith explained the associated
I womens’ stand backing the propos­
ed changes at the McLaren State
Training School for Boys.
During an open discussion of
cattle finishing, brand inspection
and transportation permits, it was
decided to have the state brand
inspector at the next meeting, it
possible, to give more complete in­
formation to fanners of this area.

men collided Thursday night, Nov.
13, with a truck as they were
heading south below the state line
at about 8 p.m.
The trio was brought into Cave
Junction by Valley Ambulance as
one man was believed to be injured
but later recovered without medi­
cal care.
Abner Castleberry and Laur­
ence Cushing made the ambulance
run.

O'BRIEN—Square dancers and
those who wish to learn are invited
to the O’Brien school tonight, Fri­
day, November 21, at 8 p.m Bob

rock club, O'Brien Square Dance
group, announces a special ses­
sion on this date in order to form
the nucleus for their winter "hoe
downs.” Dancing is planned until
midnight, with refreshments to end
the evening. Everyone is asked to
bring either sandwiches or dessert.
The O'Brien HEU will meet
Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Mrs. Melba
McDonald’s home near Elk Creek.
Textile painting is the subject of
the all-day meeting, which begins
at 10 and ends at 3. Members and
friends are asked to bring potluck. '

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wagy return­
ed recently from a trip to Oakland,
San Francisco, Vallejo and Santa
