New PMA Procedure Established for 1953 A new procedure which farm ers must follow in signing up for conservation practice payments for 1953 has been established by the U. S. Depertment of Agri culture. The change requires a new step in filing for next year’s payments and must be completed before the end of December. Josephine County farmers should begin now to set up their conser vation program for 1953. In order for a farmer to qualify for agricultural conservation program practice payments during 1953, he must file a list before December 31, 1952, of the prac tice^ he wishes to follow the next year. This list should be sub mitted to the County PMA Com mittee and must show the practice in order of their priority. Committeemen will be given special training before visiting ev ery farm in their area. The com mitteemen will aid the farmers in Main emphasis will be toward permanent conservation practices such as irrigation and drainage improvements of a permanent na ture; seeding of permanent pas tures; and better forestry prac tices. --------------o-------------- Surprise Visit from Brother Surprise visitors at the Shadow croft Lake October 31 were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon M.
