Suffers Stroke

HOLLAND—Art Kaufman suf­
fered a stroke Saturday morning
and is in serious condition. He is
home with his family and is im­
proving very slowly.
The Holland Birthday club was
held Friday Oct. 24 at the home
<>f Mrs. Elt Curtis, the guest of
honor. Mrs. Theda Wright brought
two angelfood cakes for refresh­
ments.
The Terry Roberts had a party
Saturday night celebrating two
birthdays—Glen Robert’s (Terry s
brother) and their son Teddy who
was one year old.
Mrs. Art Hutchinson and her
daughter Neva were out Saturday
to attend to the garden and report
Art is doing nicely but will not be
home until the cast has been re­
moved from his right leg. Art suf­
fered a broken left hip and leg
from a fall from the roof of a barr.

A dinner was given for Mrs.
Luther Sherier, Sr., at the home
of the Babcocks Oct. 25. Mrs. Shel­
ter’s birthday was Oet. 28. Several
of the Sherier family were present.

Daughter Born
Th. NEWS incorrectly report­
ed last week the birth of a daugh­
ter »o Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Doke.
Clyde E. Doke informed the
NEWS this week that no chili was
born to anyone in the Va'ly of
that name.
Mr. and Mrs. Zaire Gray of Cave |
Junction are the parents of a
daughter bom in the Josephine
General hospital Friday morn­
ing, Oct. 24. The young miss weigh­
ed seven pounds, three and one-
half ounces at birth.
Bring Back Duck«
Don Rosenberg. Hal Moore. Jr
Harry Garnmel, Kenny and Leland
Rosenberg went duck hunting on
the Klamath River Sunday. The\
brought back nin« ducks.
