Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hindman of
Temple City, Calif., stopped Satur­
day night at the Pines Motel. They
visited that evening with the Geo.
Mulveys. Mr. Hindman and Mr.
Mulvey worked together at Doug­
las aircraft in Santa Monica, Calif.,
during the war.
Fractures Foot
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mellow were
visiting with their eldest son,
Chuck, and family in Puyallup.
Wash, and while there, they attend­
ed the Washington State Fair.
Before returning home Sunday,
the Mellows took an overnight trip
into Canada.
While they were away. Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Mellow, Jr., from
Oakland, Calif, arrived to visit
his |>arents, and had to return to
Calif. Sunday without seeing them.

of Cave junction attended the first
annual Rogue Valley Reserve Offi­
cers ball, Moday evening, Sept. 22
in Medford.
Over 100 couples representing
all branches of military services
from Cave Junction, Grants Pass,
Glendale and Medford attended
the dinner.

Cave Junction has been getting
"dressed up” this fall with in­
creased building activitly and
several stores sporting new coats
of paint. The post office is rapid­
ly taking shape; Mrs. Fruiht’s
Remedy Store has been painted;
Stem’s building also has been
painted; Mulveys are fixing their
new store on Lister Ave.; Crowl's
have added to their service station;
R. J. McCracken is putting an addi­
tion on his house on Caves Ave.;!
and the floodlights are being used
on the high school football field.
