Weingart Is Baker 50 Years • Marking his 50th year as a bak er, Win. V. Weingart. owner and operator of the Illinois Valley Bak ery, also celebrated his 63rd birth day yesterday, July 10. Mr. Weingart and his family have operated the local bakery a year last April, coming here from Ocean Lake where he had run a bakery for 13 years. He began his training as a baker by icing cakes in Chicago in 1902. He recalls that wedding cakes at hat time were made entirely of 'ruitcake. Moving to Oregon, Mr. Weingart was for several years m Portland. From there he moved o F.stacata and later to Bandon nrevious to his move to Ocean Lake in 1939. His wife, Leone Weingart and his stepdaughter, Lee Givens, as- dst him in the operation of the hop. A son, Alfred is a staff ser geant in the Air Force, based in Washington I). C. and a daughter, Evelyn, and his only grandson, David, live in California.
