ILLINOIS VALLEY NEWS FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 1962____ ___________ H Changes Made in News of Valley . , . News Typography BOYS IN UNIFORM •z'zzzzz-zzz-zzzzzzz zz z z z z z * zzz^zzz zzzzz *zzzz z z z zz zzZz z zz ZZ Z Z ZZ Z z Z ZZ Z ZZ ZZ z z Of possible reader interest is the headline change in NEWS typo graphy this week. Although probably not percept ible to most subscribers, the larger headlines this week are slightly dif ferent, now being all machine set. To liven the appearence of the NEWS the new publishers have had to laboriously handset all but the smallest of headlines. All head lines except the very large will in the future be machine set. The same machine-set type will also peed the production of advertise ments. Another recent typographical change which undoubtedly went unnoticed by most NEWS readers was the reduction of space between lines of news matter. This decrease of space between lines, although barely perceptible, allows the publishers Vo now print 20-30 inches more of news in the -same size paper than previously. Sl/c James A.
