Moore Installed Daughter Born to
As Lions Prexy A. Vahrenwalds
HOLLAND—Mr. and Mrs. Amos
Vahrenwald are the parents of a
baby girl, Ann Marie. The young
miss was born June 18 and tipped
the scales at 7 pounds, 5 ounces.
Arriving Monday June 23 from
Sacramento to visit Mrs. Nell Shell-
aLarger are her daughter and fam­
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Nedmon Mellott.
They will also visit the Bill Shelia-
bargers and the Luther Sheriers, jr.
Wayne Leitch, his father and
brother from Seattle, are making
a stay at their mine at Tartar.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cournoyer
and sons are now making their
home in the Floyd duplex. They
moved here from Merlin. He is
foreman at tire Ross Lumber Co.
The Holland Birthday club had
as their honored guest this month
Mrs. Bertha Mayfield. Those pre­
sent to wish her well were Thelma
and Wilda Maurer, Lucille Hutch­
inson, Rachel Thrasher, Pear) Ros­

Hal Moore Jr and eight other
Illinois Valley Lions club officers
were installed by Deputy District
Governor John Wilson Jr. at a
Ladies Night dinner meeting at the
O’Brien Women’s club Tuesday
night.
Wilson presented a talk on
“Lionis-m” as well as presiding over
the installation. Secretary-Treasur­
er Chas. Hubbard presented a pen
and pencil set to outgoing Presi­
dent Don Rosenberg as a gift from
the board of directors and the
club.
Officers installed included: Hal
Moore Jr., president; C. Guy Stem,
first vice president; George Sim­
mons, second vice president; Chas
A. Hubbard, secretary and treasur­
er; Kern Drown, Lion Tamer; Jim
Akins, tailtwister; Harold Heming­
way, Carl Spieth and Richard New­
man, directors.
A movie, “American Cowboy”
provided the evenings entertain­
ment.
Wilson also initiated Jim Wilson
and Ralph Kaiser as new members.
The next Lions meeting is Tues
day, July 8.
