champs, the IVHS Cougars wound
up league play last week with a win
and a loss to be shoyed into the
cellar position for the 1952 season. I
A 13-4 trouncing of Eagle Pt.
on the local diamond Friday and a
5-4 btating from Sutherlin theri
Saturday gave the local boys a
two-win, six-loss record for the
season’s league play. Faring some­
what better for all 11 games phtye«'
the local nine won five and lost six
for the season’s total.
Eagle Point started the Friday
game off with a bang hitting IVHS
pitcher Pickle for three runs in th<
first inning. The local boys retal­
iated with six runs to take the
lead for the remaining six innings
The Cougars rounded the scor­
ing out with four more runs in
the fourth and three in the fifth.
The Eagle Point boys sneaked only
one remaining player across home
plate in the fourth.
IVHS hitting was well scattered
with Tycer getting two, and Camp­
bell, McEntire, Pickle, Maurer and
Yandell getting one each.
Reinoehl was the losing pitcher
in the Sutherlin contest allowing
four hits. IV hit the opposing hurl-
er for three hits, making. them
count for four runs, all in the
fourth. Pickle, Campbel] and Tyco,
each hit one for IVHS.
