D ear E ditor:
As one of your many readers of
the Illinois Valley News I would
like to see you publish an item
about an abuse here in our Valley
th a t is a disgrace to any civilized
community.
It has been the practice of many
lately, to 'abandon unw anted k it
tens and even puppies on highways,
and in yards of private homes. No
doubt plenty of good homes could
be found for these dumb animals,
and they make loving pets for chil
dren. Instead they are left to
suffer, starve and eventually die
if not picked up by those who can
not stand for this neglected abuse
to animals. There is nothing kind
hearted about treatm en t of this
sort even to dumb animals.
BECAUSE OF INCREASED COSTS
We are forced to announce a
16%
