say. “trippence.'’ It is the smallest
silver coin and worth four cents
in American money. I got paid

Jack Hance has received word
from his son, Lloyd Hance, now
serving in the Navy as a dispers­
ing officer, that he is getting on
fine and doing well. He is in the
South Pacific.

but I guess it has just been mailed.
I am getting along fine. I like

everywhere you look and so are the
trees. The fruit trees are all in
blossom now. It reminds me of
home. It is raining now but I
guess it is just the April showers.
There are a lot of Red Cross
ladies around these parts and they
sure treat the soldiers fine. Don’t
ever let anyone tell you the Red
Cross isn’t doing anything because
they are and people should sup­
port them all they can. Do you
hear from Jack and Lawrence very
often? I would like to hear from
