The first thing she showed us was the barracks. She said that they would hold about 59 girls, The rooms in the barracks were about all the same. They were very neat and clean. The girls have quite a few type of uniforms. Their fatigue uniforms are brown or green striped seersucker dress es. They call their uniforms O. It’s which means olive drab. In the first barracks they have a small P. X. (post exchange) of their own. i 1 hey have six bar- racks, one day room, one orderly room, and two mess halls (only one in i use.) The next thing she showed us was the day room which she said they only go to in the evenings and at night. It was a very pret ty room with writing desks, chairs, books, lounges, and a fountain where they get their cold drinks. They have certain days when the girls can bring "their dates.” After we saw it all we went back to the (). R. to wait for “chow time.” While we were waiting Lt. Randall told me to sit down at the First Sergeant’s desk and answer the telephone. 1 answered once and then be said it was “chow time.” When we went over to the mess hall there was a long line of girls. The Lt. introduced me to some of the girls and told me to wait in line with them. The gill that told me what to do and everything had just got her rating as a P. F. C. I can t remembei her name but she was very nice. For dinner we had soup, beef, peas, paisley potatoes, | bread and butter, carrot strips, coffee or milk and bread pudding Now anybody that says the army isn’t well fed certainly doesn’t know what he is talking about.
