SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Some wise bird has told us that anticipation was
sweeter than realization. However this may be, it is
highly important that the people of' the United States
realize what is happening to us and the seriousness of
the situation.
Few in this part of the country realize that we are
practically at war and they DO NOT realize how seri
ous this is. If you have Iven anticipating anything,
you have realization now—for we are coming nearer
every day to actual hostilities. As far as this news-
paper is concerned, if we are eventually going in. why
delay? Let’s get at it and get it over with. The longer
we stall the tougher job it is going to be to put the
world back on its feet. And we may as well realize
that Uncle Sam is going to be the little boy who will do
the job, no other country could do it.
In our estimation, we believe there is only one
thing that will keep us from having internal troubles,
and this one thing is for us to all get the idea that we
are in serious trouble and stick together. We venture
to say that you have witnessed a fight among friends
or relatives and when someone outside interferes, the
fighting foes get together and want to lick the fellow
who with good intentions wanted to stop the trouble.
Well, we are just like that. We may fight among our
selves, but just let someone come along and try to tell
us where to head in at. and you will see consolidated
action among all those fighting in our own back yard.
