Yes, Sir—We’re 10 years old and mighty
conscious of the fact that it is only because
of your patronage that we are celebrating
an anniversary, so thanks for the birthday.
III
We’ve done a lot of business in the Illinois
valley—we know a lot of swell people in
that section. It is sections like yours and
people of your sort who make business in
our line a pleasure and who permit firms to
keep on having anniversaries!
The Illinois valley, like Plymouth Motor
Cars, is at the “Head of the Parade.” We
know you’ll keep it there!

IN THE FIELD OF
Heavy Transportation
The Standard Oil company changed the policy of operation in the val
ley last year, and now Howard Bearss is the local wholesale distributor of
all the company’s products in the Illinois Valley. Howard has a list of
products that would choke a mule, and they are ali useful articles, many
of them for the home. Look over the large advertisement in this issue
and see a partial list of the products on hand for the convenience of the
valley residents.
Game License Needed
Licenses are now required to shoot
or hunt non-game animals or preda
tors, just as a license is necessary to
take game animals.
This change came about through
provisions of Senate Bill No. 147,
granting power to the Game Commis
sion to fix seasons and bag limits.
Previously, the attorney general had
ruled that no license was required for
shooting of non-game animals or
predators. The recently enacted legis
lation which, because of the emer
gency clause already in effect, makes
it mandatory for any person to ob
tain a .license before shooting any
wild animals or predators.
Berry Hallocks Changed
Any 12-ounce (net weight) hal-
lock or cup type container will be
come standard for strawberries, lo
ganberries and raspberries in Ore
gon as result of an order drawn
March 25 following a hearing called
by the state department of agricul
ture. The order will become effec
tive as soon as copies are ready for
distribution, probably by April 7.
This action leaves the 12-ounce
raised bottom container, standard
1933, legal for use in Oregon and
paves the way for growers and ship
pers to use any 12-ounce container
that will meet the requirements of
the federal food and drug administra
tion for interstate shipment.
