Frank J. Newman, candidate for the nomination for Cir-
cuit Judge, has conducted a fair, clean and independent cam-
paign for that office. He is seeking the nomination solely upon
his record as a man, a citizen and a lawyer, a brief statement
of which record has been furnished each registered voter.

He has not sought, nor would he accept, the indorsement
or sponsorship of any lawyer or group of lawyers who would
necessarily be called upon to practice before him should he
be elected to the important and highly responsible position of
< ircuit Judge.
He values highly his reputation among his fellow attor-
neys. and holds the ethics of his profession in the highest
esteem. He considers it a direct violation of such ethics for any
attorney or group o f attorneys, less than the entire membership
of the Bar. to sponsor the candidacy of ANY ASPIRANT to
the office of Circuit Judge.
Such sponsorship places such candidate, himself, in a
compiomising position in the eyes of the Bar and the public
at large. No candidate should seek or accept such indorse
ment or sponsorship under any consideration. The reasons for
this are self-evident to all thinking people.
Hi ;•
r- exceedingly that 10 of the 52 attorneys in this
Disti ct havi disregarded these rules of ethics by openly and
persistently sponsoring and campaigning for one of the four
candidates for the office of Circuit Judge, by actively spon-
-ring such candidate personally, by letters through the mail,
and open letters published in the newspapers of the District.
