Hawkins of Holland were attending to some business matters in Grants Pass Monday. C. L. Schumacher of Schumach­ er’s Cash Grocery, was transact- ing business in Grants Pass the first of the week. Mrs. May Peamerton of Ken- drick, Idaho, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Albert Brammer, of O'Brien. E. L. Oppie of O’Brien, made a trip to Sacramento, Santal Bar­ bara and Los Angeles for a week, looking after the oil business. W. E. Ham of Ventura, Califor­ nia, is visiting for the summer with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Oppie at O'Brien. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Oppie of O’Brien entertained Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balzke and Mrs. Cochran at cards last Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Johnson accompanied by Mrs. Robert Bal- zke of O'Brien, were visiting in Crescent City Monday. Mrs. O. W. Henry accompanied by Mrs. Quinn and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brammer, of O'Brien, were in Grants Pass attending to bus­ iness last Thursday. Mrs. Maud«4 Smith of Sacra­ mento and Mrs. Rose N. Howell of Seattle are visiting their Bister, Mrs. Charles White, who is quite ill. —o--- Harry Messenger is moving and remodeling one of his houses in Takilma nearer to his own resi­ dence. When completed the house will be for rent. — o— Ernest Bearss of San Rafael, California, brother of Howard Bearss, is spending a few days visiting here. Bill and Bob Pomeroy are spend- ing their Easter vacation at the Pomeroy ranch. They brought with them as guest, Jack O'Mal­ ley of Vallejo, California. Mrs. Marjorie Varner went to Grants Pass last Saturday to at­ tend the meeting of the committee on which she is serving for the purpose of making out the end of the term tests for the countyv Mrs. Elizabeth Thorpe and sons Wayne, Eugene and Russell, ar rived in Cave Junction last Sat­ urday, Russell and Eugene will remain in the valley, while Mrs. Thorpe and Wayne will return to Seattle this coining Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Ring and lit tie daughter Joan of Marxhfield, •■pent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. K. Drake, their grandparents. Sunday they mot ored to Gold Hill and Sardine Creek to visit with the Durkee family and pick lamb tongues. Mr. and Mrs. Daugherty of the CCC camp, returned from a trip to southern California Sunday and registered at the Holland ho­ tel. They expect to leave soon for Crater Lake where Mr. Daugherty will be stationed for the summer. Mrs Roy C. Dundas returned to her home on the Redwood highway last Friday from Berkeley, Cali fornia, where she has been for the past several months, She was accompanied home by ■ her daughter, Mrs. A. S. Gist ami daughter Ruth of Arcata, Califor­ nia. Mr. and Mrs. Athowe of Berke ley. California, accompanied by W Fulton of San Francisco, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pun das of the Pine Cone Inn over the week end. They were greatly ini pressed by the beauty and future possibilities of the lllirois Valley and surrounding country. Mr. and Mrs. F. E Barrett have leased their ranch on Caves high­ way for five years to Harold Hult man, formerly of South Dakota, but for the past three years a res ident of Grants Pa-s. Mr. and Mrs. Barrett have moved into the house across from their ranch, owned by their son, Arthur Bar rett of Klamath Falls.
