Misses Nelle Hayden and Lois Caine made a trip to Grants Pass the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ayer of Bridgeview went to Medford on business last Tuesday. Clyde E. Hayes of Bridgeview has built a new roof on his home, and will be making other improve­ ments soon. Mrs. Samuel Smith spent the week end with her husband of the Cave City drug store. She re- turned to Portland Sunday. • __ Q__ Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hayden of the Cave Junction camp, were taking care of business matters in Grants Pass the first of the week. —o— L. E. Athey made a trip to Crescent City the first of the week. He was accompanied by Mr and Mrs. J M Hout of Camp Hoquiam. Mrs. Mary Jacques of Holland is making improvements on her home. New fences are being built and re-roofing of some of the out- buildings. —o--- Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. George James of Bridgeview have been ill for several days with colds but are now improving and will be able to attend school soon. A new fence is being built and a general clearing up. —o-- Marvin Cross and family of Caldwell, Idaho, have moved on the Harding place near Bridge­ view. Mr. Cross traded his place in Idaho for this property. —o— Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Smock re­ turned to their home in Holland last Saturday evening from Cres­ cent City, where they spent the last five weeks at Pebble beach. Bud and Burton Brown from Owyhee were visiting at the Rob erts ranch near Takilma recently. Mr and Mrs. Sullivan from Cen­ tral Point and Mr. and Mrs. Brown from Grants Pass also vis­ ited t the ranch last week. O. K. Beals, county agricultural agent, called at the Takilma school Thursday afternoon to or ganize a boys 4 H club. Two clubs are now in force at the Ta­ kilma school, a 4 II girls sewing class and boys and girls forestry class. —fr­ ites Byrnes is making some im­ provements at his garage on the Caves highway. A new grease rack, a new oil room and two cab ins for tourists are among some of the recent additions. Dick Sowell and Bill Pierce are help- ing with the building. ■ o Mrs. H. C. Hill and Mrs James Seyferth entertained members of their bridge club last Tuesday afternoon with a dessert lunch eon. High scores were made by Mrs H. O. Smith and Mrs. John Smith. Mrs. Raphael Leonard was given a traveling award for honor. --- o—— Mrs. Elizabeth Holland of Bridgeview has had as guest for a short time her sister Mrs. Molly Hyatt of Santa Rosa. He has been the electrical mechanic at the Cave City theater while Fred Rout was attending the 40 et 8 convention in Seattle. —o— Mrs. Fred Bloomingcamp of Hornbrook, California, was visit­ ing her daughter Gertrude Bloom­ ingcamp of the Cave City Beauty Shop and Miss Edda Burke over the week end.
