Mrs. Mary E. White of Takilma went to Grants Pass Sunday to attend the Auxiliary meeting of fl the American Legion. Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Owen of Bandon, Oregon, are visiting Mrs. Owen’s parents, J. W. Eg fl gers of Takilma. —o-- Mrs Ralph Baumberger of the Cave City Park was shopping in the county seat the first of the week. —o— Fred Merrill of Takilma and Grants Pass is in the Josephine General hospital recovering from a major operation. C. E. Lawson, Bud Rogers, El mo Wykoff and Eddie Mangini of O’Brien made a trip to Mr. Law- I son’s copper mine Tuesday. Mrs. Bud Hoskins accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hadden and Al Watts were transacting bus iness in Grants Pass last Monday. Mrs. Edmund A. Meola was dis charged from the Josephine Gen eral hospital last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Meola make their home at the Cave City Park. —o— Tyrell Carner of Garner’s Au- tomotive Service, dealers of Dodge and Plymouth automobiles was transacting business in the valley Wednesday. —o--- G. W. Thrasher left Holland Tuesday for Tulelake, California to visit his family for a few days Bill W. Toms accompanied him as far as Grants Pass. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Floyd re turned home Monday evening from their cottage at Pebble Beach near Crescent City, after a weeks stay. Mrs. Howard Bearss and Mrs. C. L. Schumacher were hostesses for the Illinois V’alley bridge club, which met today at the home of Mrs. Schumacher at Kerby. --- o— The P. T A. of O’Brien gave a card party at the school, Satur day, January 14. Six tabu's were Used for the playing. Refresh ments were served and a collec tion taken which will be used for the benefit of the school. Mrs. C. E. Adair and her son Otto of Grants Pas- were visitors for a short time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Lockwood They visited other friends in the valley before returning to their home, L. F. Gardner was the driver who accompanied them. Bob Shipley of Kelso, Wash ington, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Murphy Hicks. Bob is a son of Mrs. Ellen Shipley who visited the valley with her daughter Juanita last fall, Mrs. Shipley is a sister of G. A. and Murphy Hicks of the Illinois Valley Gar age.
