Little Bonnie Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen of O'Brien, has been ill with intes­ tinal flu. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hicks of O’Brien are moving this week to Cave Junction where Mr. Hicks is in business. Mrs. Gladys King of the Rain­ bow Gardens has been visiting in Los Angeles since before Christ­ mas. She is expected home soon. —o— Paul Snyder of the Rainbow Gardens at O'Brien left Friday for Omaha. He was called there to attend the funeral of his father. Miss Loretta Ellis who has been working at the Holland hotel for some time returned home last week to Murphy. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Floyd of Holland left Tuesday for their Hi C’s Pebble beach cottage at Cres­ cent City. They will remain for some time. Mrs. F. L. Sawyer and son Phil and Mrs. Minnie Cosson spent Sat urday and Sunday of last week at their beach cottage at Pebble beach near Crescent City. George Thrasher is taking over the duties of Johnny Valen at Harry Floyd’s store in Holland while Mr. Valen is attending- to % the duties of county commission- er. Mr. »nd Mrs. Guy Stewart and daughter Carol spent the day in Crescent City last week, They reported the storm was severe, washing logs up as far as the Main street. Mrs. C. G. Wallace of ('»mas, Washington, arrived in Cave Junc­ tion last Sunday and will remain for an indefinite stay at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Hein. Athey motored to Grants Pass Friday evening last week where Miss Nelle took the examination for the position of Redwood Empire girl during the fair at San Francisco. Mrs. Ida Wing almost had a ser ious accident just before New Year. She was pouring some oil from one container to another when the oil caught fire burning her left leg badly, also burning both arms, We are happy to say she is now on the convalesce nt list.
