Harry Akerill of Greens creek mining district, left for Portland December 25, to visit his family. Clarence Strong of Takilma spent Christmas with Clarence Eggers at Grants Pass. Mrs. Florence Hallock and Mrs. W. F. Darger made a business trip to Grants Pass yesterday. Ted Webb of Klamath Falls spent Christmas with his family at O'Brien. He returned to Klam ath Falls Tuesday. Dr. and Mrs. A. N. Collman re turned from Portland last Monday after spending Christmas with rel atives. Mr. and Mrs. John Semple re turned hmoe to O'Brien Tuesday, from their trip to Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dean of Aber deen, spent Christmas evening with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Floyd at Holland. R. E. Van Gorder and A. C. Hamrick are putting in a cyanide plant on the Althouse creek to test some mining property. —o— Scott Turner is managing Des Byrnes’ garage while Mr Byrne and family are in Portland for the holidays. Peter Brooks was down from his mine and enjoyed a chicken dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Basye in Takilma. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Owen of Bandon visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Eggers of Ta kilma during Christmas. —o— Roy MacFarland and Cecil Owen left Takilma Monday to work at the Oro Grande mine in California for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Vincent of Murphy spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Roy MacFarland at Ta kilma. Mrs. Vincent and Mrs. MacFarland are sisters. Mrs. Frank Freitas of Bridge view left for Portland, last week with her two children. Lyle and Clinton, to spend the holidays with relatives. —o— The Women's club will meet in The News building, Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 2 p. m. Potluck dinner will be served. All women are cor dially invited to attend. Harry Messenger of Takilma, and son Richard of Ashland, left Thursday morning for San Fran cisco to spend New Years. They will attend the East-West foot bail game. Mrs. Marjorie Vainer, teacher of Rocky Dale school, returned to her home in Cave Junction Wednesday evening after spend ing the holidays with her parents in Grants Pass. —o— Mr. and Mrs, Homer White, sr., of Takilma, entertained their son Charles annd his son of Grants Pass, Mr. and Mrs. Homer White, Jr., and William Frainey for dinner Christmas. —o— Paul Hein left for Camas, Wash ington, last Saturday morning to spend Christmas at the home of Mr. anil Mrs. C. G. Wallace, par ents of Mrs. Paul Hein. They will remain until after New Years. —o— Mr. and Mrs. Harry Messenger had for Christmas dinner guests, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Owen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Owen and family, and their son Richard of Ashland and Ralph of Corval lis. Ralph leaves Monday for Corvallis to resume his studies at Oregon State college. The next regular meeting of the 40 et N will be held al Shona Wauna camp at Elk Creek Cut Wymore will be in charge of re freshment«.
