THANKSGIVING
DINNER
Luke Hobart and Louis Aller
were transacting business in Ta­
kilma yesterday.

Miss Doris Hayden of Grants
Pass was a guest at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Forbes Slayton over
the week end.

Mrs. Patricia Jackson has been
ill for a few days and the Hotel
Drews dining room has been
closed temporarily.
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Watts were
Grants Pass visitors last Tuesday.
Mrs. Forbes Slayton and daughter
acompanied them.
Mrs. A. G. Jackson made a trip
to Grants Pass the first of the
week and was accompanied by
Mrs. Forbes Slayton and little
daughter Dianne.
Mrs. J. D. Lanning, formerly
of the Cave City Beauty shop left
the first of the week for McFar-
land, California, where she will
remain indefinitely.
Mr. (ml Mrs. Neal Doty of
Medfora, moved to Cave Junction
today, (Thursday). Mr. Doty ex- I
pects to go into business in Cave
Junction in the near future.

months visiting relatives and

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Floyd left
yesterday for Crescent City on
a business trip. They were ac-
companied by Mr. Toms, who will
do some carpenter work for Mr. '
Floyd while there.

Mrs. Susan Haines accompanied
her 7th and Nth grade pupils to |
Cave Junction last Thursday to
see a printing office in operation
and 0n Tuesday of this week a
visit was paid to the Grants Pass ,
library.
Mrs Howard Bearss has been
quite sick for several days and
her mother, Mrs. Fannie M. Eg­
gers of Wolf Creek, is here tak­
ing care of her.
Mrs. Bearss’
many friends hope for her a
speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Leonard
had as their guests for a few days
last week, Mr. and Mrs. R. At­
kinson and daughter Janice, of
Honolulu. Mrs. Atkinson is a
cousin of Mr. Leonard and was
formerly Ella Leonard.
Mrs. H. O. Smith attended a dis-
trict conference of the Federat­
ed Gunien dubs of Oregon last
week in Medford. Mrs. C. C.
Babcock, president of the Illinois
Valley Garden club and Mrs.
Agness Smith accompanied her.

Mr, and Mrs. George W. Mar­
tin and daughter Janette left for
a business and pleasure trip to
Portland Tuesday, November 15.
They expect to return Monday,
November 21.
Bud Hoskins is
taking care of the hardware store
while they are away.

Bill Robetison, Guy Stewart,
Herl Renichke and Mr. Van Gor
der are clearing bedrock on the
Raphael Leonard property on the
Althouse. They are working on a
royalty basi- to Bill Von der Hei
den and Raphael Leonard and re­
ports say they are doing fine.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Messenger
and daughter, of Takilma, accom­
panied by Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Owen left for Corvallis last Fri­
day to attend the football game
between Oregon State and Stan­
ford. They returned home Mon­
day after having a great trip and
watching Oregon State beat Stan
ford.
Kerby Girl Scouts have reor­
ganized under the leadership of
Mrs. Sharlet Slack with Alice
Hogue as lieutenant. Plans were
made to have a table of Guls
Scout handwork at the Auxiliary
bazaar that is to be held Dec. 10.
