Barrett were transacting business in the county seat last Monday. —O' Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Sawyer made a trip to Grants Pass this week on business. F. W. Cooper of Selma was transacting business in Grants Pass the first of the week. —o— E. P. Preble of Holland was in Cave Junction transacting busi ness the first of the week. — o— George Thrasher came over from Tulelake last week, He re- turned at once and will makt* an- other trip shortly. — o— has John Valen of Holland been exceedingly busy with his campaigning lately, He has been in every corner of th«* county. —o— Eugene R. Brown has been over the county in the interest of his candidacy for county com missioner. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hayden re turned home recently from I.os Angeles where they spent two weeks visiting. —o— Mrs. Chris Wendt returned last week from an extended visit in l.os Angeles where sh«* has been visiting relatives and friends. —o— Arthur Brown, State Grange Deputy, was in the valley Tuesday looking after Grange interests, and visiting the Harry Mills fam- ily near Bridgeview. —o— Mr. and Mrs. W. R. McKinney and Alec Martin were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hout of th«* Hoquiam camp th«* first of the week. —o--- Mr. and Mrs. Clay Ramsey of Kerby left for Powers, Oregon last Sunday where Mr. Ramsey will be employed during the win ter. —o--- Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harker of Prineville, Oregon, are visitors in th«* valley for a short time. Mr. Harker is th«* son of Mrs. Paul Newlands. — o— Ralph Messenger spent week end with his parents, and Mrs. Harry Messenger of Ta kilma. Ralph is attending Or«* gon State college at Corvallis. —o— Mrs. W. S. Doty underwent a major operation last Sunday at the Josephine General hospital. Last reports were that she was getting along nicely. —o— Mrs. Harry Bosch had the mis fortune to break her left leg last week and was taken to the Grants Pass hospital by Or. A. N.
