Women’s Club Cooked Food Sale, Alma’s Dress Shop, Saturday, October 22 Dr. William A. Brown, founder of the Friendly Mission, returned home last Monday after a two weeks trip east. —o— Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hayden left on a business trip to Los Angeles and Indio last Friday. —o— John Valen of Holland attended the Grants Pass Chamber of Com merce luncheon last Monday at Grants Pass. Mrs. Ruth George, nee Ruth Roth is visiting in the valley a few days before going to Los An geles to make her home. Harriett Slayton of Corvallis spent Monday and Tuesday visit ing her brother Forbes Slayton of the Caves City Drug Store. —o— Eugene Brown and Mrs. Sti- walt were in Grants Pass Monday and attended the Chamber of Com merer luncheon. Freddie and Elinor Galeno spent last week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Galeno of O'Brien. The children are attending school at Medford. — o--- Mr. Parks of Grants-Pass was a guest Saturday and Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balzke at the Waldo Auto camp, in O’Brien. Roy Dundas was in Grants Pass Monday and attended the meeting of the Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce to help swell the val ley attendance. —o— Mrs. C. M. (’ounce arrived from Springfield, last Friday to spend a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hayes. Mrs. Counce is the mother of Mrs. Hayes. —0— H. 11. Wardrip, County super intendent of schools, was in the valley Tuesday examining the schools anil found many improve ments in the schools. Howard F. Griffin, publisher of the Crescent City American, and son, stopped in Cave Junction for a short time last week. They were on their way to Idaho where they will visit for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. (). L. Stutsman of Los Angeles, are visiting at the W. J. McMitchell home. Having sold their apartment house in the southern city they are touring the coast and Portland is their present destination. —o— Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rout return ed from Portland, where they had been for several days While there Fred bought several of tin- finest pictures on the market, “The Hur ricane,” "Algiers," "Drums'' ami several other big pictures. —o--- The Ladies Missionary Society of Caves Junction, Non Denomin ational church will meet all day Thursday, Oct. 27, at the home of Mrs. II.
