It has come to our notice that not all the residents of the Illinois Valley are registered. ’Phis is a mis take. It is a DUTY you owe your county, state and nation to take a part in the political activities of the country. Some do not register because they will not align themselves with either of the dominant parties in the field, viz: democrat or republican, and to vote in the primaries, one MUST do so; however, it is not neces sary for the regular election in November. Our nation is built on a political system. We must have political parties in order to function as a demo cratic nation. Your ballot represents the part you play in keeping the country democratic. You may not be interested in a single candidate running for office, but you ARE interested in keeping the coun try free from dictators, and your ballot will do jusf that. Make it a point to register, folks, it is easy to do so and it does not cost anything. ----------- ——o----------------- THE WATER SITUATION Two reasons that make it necessary for Cave City to have a water system—When the rains come like they are now, the water is very dangerous to drink without boiling, for we cannot prevent the water from seeping into the wells unless they are cased off. Owners have to run their motors constantly to keep their wells from overflowing in some cases. The other reason is during the dry weather there is not enough water to furnish the inhabitant? from the present wells, except in a few instances. Dee|>er Saturdays, 8 p. m. Some study and thought along this line will convince most anyone that a water system can be built and operated successfully in this city. Some action is absolutely necessary in the near fu ture. The property owners are up against this—Dig deeper wells and case them in, or put in a water system. It’s their choice.
