Dear Mr. Editor: I wish to record my sincere ap preciation to the people of Cave I City Junction for the wonder way y in which they responded to the 1 suggestion that we men in one day finish the Cave City Commun ity Church. It is incredible that at this holiday season, difficult as it has been, all the people carry- ing on business on Main street without a single exception re- sponded favorably, And the 18 men who gave freely of their time and ability should be noted and appreciated likewise. Convenient THE Rogue River Hardware Company A New Service 1938 License Plates to Designate Ownership YEARS GREETINGS CARNIVAL DANCE All state-owned motor vehicles will be definitely identified when 1938 license plates are issued, un der a plan worked out by Earl Snell, secretary of state. Every vehicle owned by a unit of government will be designated by specially marked plates under the new plan, explains Secretary Snell, and those that are operated by the state will carry the letter “E” placed inside of a shield de- This will separate this class of vehicles from those operated by counties, which will have the letter “E” inside a diamond. Cit y -owned automobiles will carry an “E" plate with the letter inside of a circle and a square will represent vehicles operated by school districts. The federal gov- ernment will have plates with a letter “E" without additional marking. This plan will enable persons to quickly tell when automobiles are owned by the state or other political division and should be helpful in preventing use of the cars for private purposes,” adds Mr Snell. on in the future. The fact that beginning January 1st our Secretary of State is giv ing .ill registration stations five cents per car will enable us to do this, and from my point of view and from past experience I offer this suggestion to the Chamber hoping that it will accomplish the things I have mentioned.
