Many Accidents
The driver who “falls asleep at
the wheel,” or who drives while
his reactions arc dulled by fa
tigue, may cause far more dam
age on the highway than the aver
age person realizes. Secretary of
State Earl Snell declared this
week.
The secretary said he wished to
warn against fatigue because ac
cidents of the “driver-asleep” type
are nearly twice as apt to be fatal
as ordinary accidents.
“These mishaps are deadly be
cause there is no slackening of
speed no attempt to swerve or

Miner Injured by Cavein
At Waldo Mine Friday
Last Friday morning, Joe John
son of Takilma, while working at
the Waldo copper mine, was
caught by a cavein of some ore,
and upon being extracted was hur
ried by Dr. Collman who was im
mediately called, to the Grants

He suffered a badly lacerated

thought, possibly internal injuries
but due to his remarkable stamina,
there are no other injuries than
his hand, and he is expected to
recover rapidly.
