Elwood Hussey spake on the growth of the community since the power line was first built into the valley and of the break down last winter from the heavy snows. He was assured by Mr. Brewer that the company would do all within their power to keep up the service, but the elements were not under their control, He also said that it would not be long be- fore a three phase line was in- stalled. Dr. A. N. Collman asked if users of pqmps, etc. would duce the cost of the new line, and was assured it would. Dr. Brown offered a resolution that the Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce extend a vote of sin- cere thanks to the Utilities Com- mission and Messrs Boyle and Brewer for attending the meeting. Art Drews in the chair asked that the Chamber give them a rising vote of thanks which was done with a will.. Art Drews asked all members to consider themselves a committee of one to see where we can find more potential users of power so we can reduce the cost of building the line to those users. The Commission assured those present that it would be as lenient •is possible and would hold their decision open to allow more data on the subject. C. W. Graham of Grants Pass was introduced and said he was not there for electricity, but he knew how we felt as he had spent six years in Alaska, looking for it. The meeting was adjourned and all were asked to be on hand next Tuesday when other important questions will be discussed espec ially as to a school bus, road im provement, Happy Camp road and the railroad from Grants Pass to Crescent City. ------------- o—---------- MACK S SEED AND FEED STORE Field Seed.
