Perhaps it is all right for us to re member the 1th of July every year, for 1G1 years ago we became a nation all of our own; it is quite proper and fitting that we should celebrate this glorious1 event, but we should all try to impress the youngsters that a too enthusiastic celebration often causes bodily :njury and many times destructive fires to businesses and homes. We, personally, are not opposed to firecrackers or other forms of noise making devices that help us remember our national anniversary. But we do be lieve children should !<■ schooled in the art of shoot ing them off so as to prevent injury to themselves and others. See that the children, and yes, the older ones, demonstrate their enthusiasm in a clear place where fire hazards do not exist, and then teach the kids how to keep from being burned and injured. Outside of that, “Let ’Er Buck,” as Pendleton would say—Let us all remember that we are celebrat ing the One Hundred and Sixty-First Anniversary Tferore will h* * bropLcMiaH •re of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of vive V.:.v-1 f, • the United States of America, and we should rejoice iwm I in this proper. and be happy and help the celebration in a manner Childrens dedication service quite fit and proper for such an event.
