Every one In this vicinity should
feel proud that they live In this
beautiful valley of ours now as they
all will look forward to the comple
tion of that railroad from Grants
Pass to Crescent City, which will
cause inquiries to come from all over
the United States asking whether
they live any where near where that
new road is being built. The price of
land will Increase and we win nave
a more ready sale for our farm pro
duce which In some way and another
will help us nil out, so from now on

Harry Banta, a young man about
30 years of age, was brought In from
Seltna Tuesday night and lodged in
the county Jail on a charge of assault
with intent to commit rape, the corn
plaint being sworn out by Elizabeth
Galbralth. a resident of the Selma
district, who alleges that Banta as
saulted her on the 14th Inst. The
preliminary hearing will occur be
fore Justice Holman.

We are having some rain here to
