Margaret Jane Keatley, mother of
Mrs. Theo. 1 Cramer, died at the
home of the latter on Thursday ev
ening at $ o'clock, rfter an attack of
bronchitis, which, ou account of her
advanced years and enfeebled condi
tion, he was not able to throw off.
Mrs. Keatley was conscious almost
to the last, and the end came very
peacefully. 'Grandma" Keatley, as
she was familiarly known, had lived
In Grants Pass for eighteen years.
and was well known to a large num
ber of friends and also In the Pres
byterian church. She was born In
Sinking Valley, Pa.. May 21, 1531.
Her grandparents were pioneers In
that part of Pennsylvania, where to
this day a large part of the farming
land l still held by the various
branches of tho family. After her
marriage she removed to Iowa, and
came to Council Muffs In 1868, when
that point was the end of the rail
road. The family lived In Council
muffs and Omaha. Neb., until 1894,
when she came to live with her
daughter with whom she made her
homo till the end. Mrs. Keatley
came of good Pennsylvania Dutch
stock and Inherited a strong consti
tution, which enabled her to outlive
her tlve brothers and sisters. Of
her own children but two are now
living. Frank M. Keatley of Omaha.
Neb., and Mrs. T. P. Cramer of this
city. The funoral services will be
held from the T. P. ' Cramer resi
dence on North 4th street at 2 p. in.
Saturday, and will bo conducted by
Rev. Robt. McLean, D. D., pastor of
the Presbyterian church. The Inter
ment will be In the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
