Just as Col onel Roosevelt began speaking at the fair grounds in Hanillne, near here, today, a runaway horse plunged Into the crowd about the stand. Seven persons were Injured and were tak en to the hospital. Thirty others were knocked down and suffered les ser injuries. More than 30 men, women and children were trampled by the mad dened horse within a few feet of where Colonel Roosevelt was speak ing. Roosevelt seemed unmoved by the tumult and continued his ad dress in an effort to reassure the throng. The horse stopped plung ing when the crowd became so dense that It could not Droceed further. and was dragged down by a dozen hands. None of the injured are ex pected to die.
