Deafness Cannot Re Cured
by local applications, as they can not
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There Is only one way to cure deaf
ness, and that is by constitutional
remedies. Deafness is caused by an
inflamed condition of the mucous lin
ing of the Eustachian Tube. When
this tube Is inflamed you have a
rumbling sound or Imperfect hearing,
and when it Is entirely closed, Deaf
ness Is the result, and unless the in
flammation can be taken out and this
nhu rpatnred to Its normal condition,
i hearing will be destroyed forever;
t nine cases out of ten are caused by
Catarrh, which is nothing but an In

THE BIG SHOW
CUTS ITS PRICE
When the great Sells-Floto shows
come here on Tuesday of next week
they do so with the Indorsement un
qualified in every way of the press
and public of San Francisco. If we
take the newspaper account of the
engagement of this great circus there
it is the story of a -vst of amusement
lovers having been turned away at
every performance.
Perhaps this is the first time that
this has occurred in the history of
the big circuses that have visited
San Francisco. It Is a record that
any attraction may well be proud of
and needs not to be bolstered up by
the bombastic utterances of any
press agent.
Perhaps the chief reason for this
lies in the fact that this year the
Sells-Floto shows come back to us
with more attractive paraphernalia
than ever before. All the old time
circus stunts, together with many
new ones which seem to have caught
on with those who love to patronize
the big tents. Another feature which
appeals most forcibly to the public
Is the announcement that the people
of Grants Pass can witness the great
show in its entirety for the nominal
general admission price of twenty
five cents.
Many people are familiar with the
great circus war which is now being
waged between the proprietor of
the big road shows. The theatrical
men have had their battles, but they
have never extended so far so that
the public benefited other than read
ing the tirades published in the pub
lic press. The Sells-Floto people,
however, bring the fight to their
antagonists by cutting the price in
half.
The Sells-Floto people have al
ways refused to belong to any trust
or combination which would tend to
consolidated the American circus
business. They have always con
tended that the country was large
enough for everybody, Including
their rivals. They are strictly an
Independent organization. They
have no quarrels with any one but
reserve to themselves the right to
conduct their own business in their
own way.
The great street parade which
will be given here on Tuesday morn
ing will be sufficient to convince
everybody of the .magnitude of this
attraction. The usual matinee will
be given In the afternoon, the en
gagement closing with the evening's
performance. t
