At the State Normal Bchool of San
Jose, Cal., 18 girls, freshmen, are
suffering from ptomaine poisoning
as a result of eating baked beans at
a midnight barbecue. One girl who
did not eat the beans escaped being
poisoned. The barbecue was given at
a pleasure park, the girls taking
along porterhouse steaks and pota
toes. The beans were contributed
by the professor. None of ihose pois
