Kan., spent several days In our city
this week, leaving for his home
Thursday. While here he purchased
through the Elmer Shank real estate
firm 16 acres of the Dimick orch
ard, west of town. The doctor was
the guest, of J. W. Lucas while In the
city and he was so well pleased with
this part of the west that he expects
to return here with his family this
fall to make this place his home.

Herman Wallace, who for the past
few weeks has been on the Klamath
Weed run as S. P. baggageman, is
again on his old run between this
city and Dunsmuir, Cal.
Mrs. Geo. Tetherow and baby re
turned Wednesday from Glendale,
where they had been since Sunday,
the guests of Mrs. Tetherow's cous
in, Mrs. L. A. Messing.
W. S. Kalter, an architect of Port
land, spent a few days in the city
visiting A. N. Parsons and sister, Dr.
Parenteau. Mr. Kalter was from

nesday evening from Worthlngton,
Ind., to spend a month or more with
her cousin. Mrs. D. J. Manuel. Miss
Macintosh has been a teacher In the I
public schools of Vlneennes, Ind.,
for the past 12 years and is nnw tak-1
ing a much needed rest.
Robert N. McLean returned Wed-1
nesday from Portland, where he oc
cupied the pulpit of the Third Pres
byterian church during the month's
absence of the regular pastor. He
was accompanied by Rev. Mr. Crom-
ley, an Auburn seminary friend who
has a pastorate at Sprlngwater, Ore., j
and who will spend a few days visit- j
ing.
There was a severe electrical
storm at Thrall, Cal., Tuesday morn- j
ing which did considerable damage j
to the town. Among other damage i
panled to this city by her sister,
Miss Nell Callahan, who will spend
the winter here.
.Will Gagnon, a former Grants
Pass boy, has purchased a drug store
at Fairbanks, Alaska, and has gune
into the business for himself. While

The windows of Hendricks & Son,
the real estate men, are very attrac
tively decorated this week with
fruits. One window especially shows

strawberry vines growing in earthen
pots and covered with berries. The
