At our last meeting we had with us Mrs, Helen D. Harford, state sup- erlntendent of Christian Citizenship, lecturer and organizer, who address- ed the ladles on the work of the V. C. T. U. She spoke encouragingly of the progress of prohibition and the temperance work in general. At the close refreshments were served. At 8 o'clock she spoke in the Baptist church to an appreciative audience. The theme was "Law Enforcement." Mr. McLean, of the Presbyterian church, and Mr. Lovett, of the Bap tist church, both spoke for a few minutes at this meeting, and all heartily agreed that the enforcement of law is the question now before this city, needing the attention and hearty support of all loyal citizens. Sunday Afternoon, Mrs. Harford spoke at Fruitdale and Sunday even ing occupied the pulpit of the New man M. E. church. Monday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, an id. r. L. rally was neia in tne parlors of Bethany Presbyterian church and Mrs. Harford delightful ly entertained the little ones in her usual bright way. Five names were secured for the legion. At 8 o'clock Monday evening, a meeting of the Y's was held in the same place at which time Mrs. Har ford told of the splendid work the Y's were doing and advised a Japan ese tea In the near future for the Grants Pass Y's. This coming to gether resulted In six new members for the W. C. T. U, Every meeting was an inspiration for better service on the part of those fortunate enough to hear her.
