young lady of many endearing quali

Mr. George Goodall is a young man
of many sterling qualities and one
ho has been succeeslul in holding
positions of trust. He is a highly
educated'gentleman and Is at present
the secretary of the bUte Railroad
Commission, a place of gret responsi
bility. Tbe many friends of the young

CLARK Sunday, October 18. 1908 at
Monrovia, Cal of tobercnloois, Mrs.
O. O. Clark, aged 84 years, 11
months and 8 days.
The funeral was held this morning
from Hall's Uudertaklrg parlors,
Rev. Alexander Maclean conduct
ing the ceremony. Deceased is, sur
vived by ber husband. She has been
ill for many months aod last Jane was
taken to California in the hope that
the climate would help her, bat she
was past recovery.

Thomas Meirick, aged 63 years.
Funeral waa held from the Cat hollo
Church Wednesday. The deceased bas
been a resident of this section since
1897 'and was well and favorably
oown. He was taken sick just a
week before bis death, whi-h was
caused from pneumonia. He leaves a
wife to monrn his loss.

just returned from a two weeks hant
ing trip with Jack Hanseth on Upper
Deer Creek. They report a good
time and plenty of camp meat Twice

dents, but these only contributed to
the exoitement and pleasure of 'the
outing.

of Grants Pass, died at his borne in
Portland last Friday night, after a
lingering illness. Mr. Dunkle was

This morning when No. 14 was
pulling in, Mrs. Nancy Anderson, a
passenger fell off about 200 yards be
fore the train stopped. She was
standing on tbe platform of the
chair car and it is supposed became
dizzy aud lost her balanoe. She
struck on her shoulder in the gravel

were broken. Dr. Loughrldge was
called and came with his buggy in
which the lady was conveyed to the
