to go into the Bear Camp country,
taking their outfit from West Fork
by pack train.
Miss Minnie Ireland, who baa been
visiting in Minnesota for the past six
weeks, went to Chicago last week,
Tuesday and spent a few days with
Mist Mitilda Barrett, who at one time
waa a resident of Grants Pass, hav
ing a deek In the Courier office. The
train lrt-wbich Miss Ireland traveled
to Chicago was wrecked and the pas
senger badly shaken op, Miss Ireland,
fornnately was not hart.
B. 0. Pratt arrived Tuesday morn
ing from Boston ou hi annual trip to
look over the property of the Swastika
Mioing Co. on Jump-otT-Joe, of which
property he is the principal owuer.
The Swastika for the pan year has
been nnder the management of A. C.
Howland, who has made an eiccllent
record both at the Swastika and on
other properties. The work accom
plished the past year has been several
times as great as in any previous year.

Riddles. H. O. Telford of Klamath Falls ar
rived in Grants Pass Satarday night
to visit his sisters, the Misses Hattle
and Emma Telford. Mr. Telford says
that Klamath Falls will toon be
connected by rail, as there are now
but six miles of staging necessary to
make the trip. Mr. Telford and ion
are in the boat ballding business.

& Colvig, was a passenger on the 6:85
northboud train Tuesday eveuing, and

City Marshall L. MoGrew captured
L. A. Reman Thursday afternoon and
