Grants Pass Box Factory last spring
It will be remembered tliat Chas. F.
Parker was tried at the lait term of
court for this theft In his testimony
Parker claimed that his brother-in-law
Asher did the stealing. Whereup
on Aaher fled the country and has just
been caught at Ukiah. It was tbonght
that Parker had also skipped out but
Deputy Sheriff found him at Woodrille
and he was brought here and bound
sver in the sum cf $100 to apprar a'
witness sgaiust Aiher at the next
term of the circa it court. Sheriff
Rossell had to go to Sacramento and
procure the necessary requisition be
fore he could proceed to get his man.
Much Dirt Changing Hand
The way the deeds are piling up in
County Clerk Cheshire' offloe is a

Case of Cunnviblal Infelicity.
Another case cf unhappy married
life lias come to light in the circuit
court records, wherein Anita Enos
seeks to be released from the niarit.il
ties which bind her to Ernest Enos,
to whom she was married here in
Josephine county, September 25, 11)05.
In her complaint she alleges that be
removed to Seltna, Fresno county,
Cel., where be became a bartender
and that she accompanied him thither.
All seems to have gone well, until it
was known that she enceiute,
when her husband no longer wanted
her around. She says that I e bonght
her a railroad tickit and put her on
the train and told her to come up and
! live with her motlier, in Josephine
I county. She farther states that at all
times he treated her in acrnel acd
I inhuman manner and that now he
refosed to support her and their in
; fant child, and so she wants a decree
of divorce, custody of the son, Paul,
and such other relief as the court
may deem fit and proper.
Another Real Estate Texnile.
Another real estate tangle is being
aired in the coorts. This time W. B.
Sherman, the well known really man

when the deed was properly executed
$900 in 80 days; $500 in one year and
$500 in 2 years. But th plaintiff
ays that his offer of the $90 payment
was declined and tbis caused a hitch
in the proceedings. In the meantime
th deal has caused him no end
of trouble, for be .proceeded to sell
th some property to a third party
for $4000 and now he asks th oourt
for damages in the sum of $4200 and
also asks the court for a emporary
restraining order preventing the de
fendant from disposing of th property
in question.
Selma Merchant I Insolvent.
A. V. Schmitt, the Selma merchant
has made a deed of assignment to J.
G. Hiatt, of Selmaw for the benefit of
his creditors. The property set forth
in the schedule consist of 5 acres of
land, on which there is a mortgage
for $7:0, th store goods and fixture,
valued at $1200 and outstanding ao
oounts due the firm, estimated at
